We are trying to get some outside co-sponsors for HPA. I know it isnt easy but it will help us to receive additional funding for events. We would really like to get a couple co-sponsors for the car show that we are planning (more on that at a later date). This will help cut our own costs that we have to ask SGA to cover. We are treating the car show as a fundraiser so the less that SGA has to pay out, the less we have to pay back, leaving us with a higher profit. If anyone has any suggestions for businesses to talk to, please let me know. Some thoughts would be Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, or Discount Tire.

If you want to do big name corporations you need to talk to them now. I know with Advance we have to send paper work into Corp for them to approve it. It's a long drawn out process.

Yeah I kinda figured it would take some time. I didnt know we needed corporate approval for a place like Advance since those are usually sponsored by a single location, at least for all the events I have seen with them as a sponsor.

You can hold a car show at Advance, just ask the manager about it. But for actually receiving money from that company you will have to apply for it. I wouldn't get my hopes up on Advance sponsoring a small car group.

Now it may be a whole new ball game if you charge some form of admission to the show, Advance may see that as drawing away from their profits somehow.

Yea I've seen small car shows take place at an Advance store but that is only because it will draw more business for the store. As far as getting money from them to put on a show I doubt that will happen. You would be better of asking small shops for sponsorship.

I'm gonna talk to small shops as well. the big thing is not giving us physical money but helping with signs, banners, advertising, stuff like that. i've seen Advance do that for other shows plenty, even car shows not at Advance. and we are charging admission just so you know.

BRE is moving to concord mills. They won't give us money but who knows what they could do for us. Their new shop is going to be tits too! Maybe worth asking them. I can always ask Tex next time I'm over there. Plus their new place wouldn't be a bad spot for a meet. It's off the main drag but if we advertised and the shop alone should up attendance. Plus it would get people out to bre's new spot.

hmm interesting. is Six Sigma taking over the rest of the building? we'll have to talk to BRE. i've already talked to John but they offered us enough time and use of the facility to where that is enough sponsorship.

Where is BRE moving to exactly?

I remember when Tex was working out of a rental storage unit. Feels like yesterday, but that was like 6-7 years ago lol
