Our members are what makes HPA a great student organization at UNCC. Being a member isn't just about putting your name on file. It's also about taking part in an educational (believe it or not) experience that some people don't get the opportunity to do. Being a member of HPA is an exciting experience. Not only do you learn about the world of vehicles, but you also get to hang out, have fun, and be a part of some pretty awesome events that most people wouldn't even consider to be educational. However, they do in fact teach us a little bit about our vehicles, how they operate, and some of the science behind these everyday machines. If you would like to take part in the extraordinary opportunity, join HPA and start having some educational fun. To join, come to one of our bi-weekly car meets every first, third, and fifth Friday night on campus. Just find someone and ask them how you can become a member of the club. If one of the members there can't help you, come find one of our officers, who are almost always at the meets. Click here to visit our Car Meet info page to learn more about the meets. If you can't stop by one of our meets, just check out our forum, register, and post up in the introduction section. Rules of Membership
There are only a few basic rules of membership to consider. These are subject to change at any time.
- All members must be either a current or prior student at UNCC to take part in HPA events.
- No street racing or fooling around on the road will be tolerated. We have a zero-tolerance policy for street racing and will immediately terminate your membership if you are found to have been in violation of this offense.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at any school funded event.
- All dues for HPA must be turned in within four weeks of the first official car meet of each semester. These dues will cover all food at events as well as certain operating expenses for the organization. We will not take any dues after this period until the beginning of the next semester. You do not have to pay dues if you do not want any food at the event. Your student activity fees will pay for your participation in the event.
- We have the right to remove a person's membership if they are found to be in violation of any HPA or UNCC rules and regulations.
